What does the course include?

Class 1- The ground work.

In class 1 you will learn all about the physiology of birth and what is actually happening in your mind and body during labour. By the end of this class you will understand how to use relaxation and mindset to keep your head out of the game and allow your body to birth more comfortably.

Class 2- Relaxation.

This is the class in which you learn all of your breathing and relaxation techniques, so you can put last weeks learning in to practise… and relax.

Class 3- Birth choices.

Class 3 is all about thinking about your choices and decisions. With all of your knowledge and expertise, you want to make sure that everyone involved in your birth experience are on board too so, we discuss in detail and draft a birth plan together.

Class 4- Final preparations.

Class 4 is all about ensuring you are absolutely ready and feeling confident about the birth of your baby. From soothing massage strokes to discussing your baby’s first movements after birth, I ensure you leave feeling excited about meeting your beautiful baby.

Fantastic preparation for my second labour. Sarah at Henley Hypnobirthing was really knowledgeable and clear throughout. Such a reassuring tone to the whole thing, gave me the confidence to approach the birth without fear. I ended up needing an induction but Sarah was ready to provide the additional information and support ahead of the day. The techniques I learned helped me cope, my husband helped coach me through the breathing and relaxing during surges. Ended up being a very positive birth. Thank you again to Sarah for all the support!

You may know you’re planning a Caesarean section birth, but did you know that you can use many of the hypnobirthing methods to support a controlled and positive Caesarean birth experience?

Hypnotherapy can help to manage so many things including anxiety, pain and recovery. Meaning you can get back on your feet, to enjoy your time with your little bundle of joy, as soon as possible.

This programme can be taught as an add on to the hypnobirthing course if you find out at a later stage that you’ll be having a Caesarean section. Alternatively, if you know your birth plans, it can be taught in isolation.

Nothing went to plan towards the end of the pregnancy and during the labour/delivery, but the techniques taught by Sarah enabled me to maintain calmness throughout. I was confident everyone involved was aware of my birth preferences, so I could just stay wrapped safely in my happy place, thinking about my babies and how everything would work out the way it needed to. I was totally prepared for anything that arose (and so much did!), everyone who cared for me was perplexed at how I managed to stay so calm and relaxed. Though seemingly traumatic, our labour/delivery/postnatal period was controlled by us and we look back on it fondly.
